About the Tour:

Experience what the area really has to offer! Olden Valley, Jostedalsbreen and the most famous glacier arms. The tour lasts 60.

We take off from Løkjaneset helipad in Nordfjordeid and head east into Gloppefjorden. The helicopter climbs steadily towards the mighty Jostedalsbreen glacier – Europe’s largest mainland glacier. From the air you really get an impression of its dimensions: up to 600 meters thick, and over 800 square kilometers including the glacier arms.

We continue south into Oldedalen, where turquoise lakes and green slopes form a beautiful contrast to the glacial landscape. Here we get up close to famous glacier arms such as Briksdalsbreen, and weather permitting, we cross over the glacier towards the mountain giant Lodalskåpa (2,083 m) and the alpine mountain areaHurrungane– a favorite among mountaineers and hiking enthusiasts.

The hike continues towards Kjenndalsbreen and the iconic hiking destination Skålatårnet before turning north towards Stryn. Here we get views of the winding Stryne River, which cuts through the valley before flowing into Nordfjord.

On the way back we fly west and see Hornindalsvatnet shimmering deep below us – Europe’s deepest lake at 514 metres. We then glide gently down towards Nordfjordeid with panoramic views of mountains, fjord and countryside – before landing safely back at Løkjaneset, full of memories and wow moments.

Parts of the trip go through national park with a minimum elevation of 1,000 feet.

This tour is available as a private flight only. The price is fixed and covers the entire helicopter – you may bring up to 7 passengers (maximum 110 kg per person / 540 kg per group).
