Glaciers, fjords and historic landscapes from the air
Experience more of Stryn and Jostedalsbreen from a bird's eye view! This 45-minute helicopter tour takes you through some of the most impressive and iconic nature experiences Western Norway has to offer.
The trip starts fromStryn base, where we take off and fly south into beautifulOldedalen. Below us liesOldevatnetsurrounded by green valley sides, and on both sides tower mighty sections of Jostedalsbreen. At the end of the valley we get a spectacular view of Briksdalsbreen, one of Norway's most famous glacier arms.
We continue with Jostedalsbreen below us, and head towards Kjenndalsbreen. Here you will see the dramatic area that was hit by landslides in both 1905 and 1936– a powerful meeting between the beauty and strength of nature.
We then round the impressive mountain Lodalskåpa(2,083 m) and fly further north over Erdalsbreen, before following Erdalen down towards Oppstrynsvatnet. Here you get a panoramic view of the idyllic village of Hjelle and the charming Hjelle Hotel.
We continue west towards Stryn city centre with views of the characteristicStryne River, before turning south and passing the Loen Skylift Gondola and the famous Skålatårne thiking destination . The last part of the trip goes downhill towards the beautiful Lovatnet, before we return along the south side of Loen city centre and land safely back at Stryn base.
The trip gives you unforgettable views of Jostedalsbreen glacier, deep fjords, high mountains and scenic villages. Large parts of the trip go through national park with a minimum flight altitude of 1000 feet.
This tour is available as a private flight only. The price is fixed and covers the entire helicopter – you may bring up to 7 passengers (maximum 110 kg per person / 540 kg per group).
