About the Tour:
With Glacier Explorer you get to experience more of Jostadalsbreen and Stryn. The trip lasts 45.
We take off from Nordfjordeid and ascend over the beautiful Eidfjord, with views of mountains and fjord landscapes in all directions. After takeoff, we turn south and cross Nordfjord, before heading west. The view opens up to the sea and Norway's westernmost point.
Right in front of us rises Hornelen – Europe's highest sea cliff – an 860-meter-high, vertical rock wall that rises dramatically straight up from the fjord. A mighty sight!
We continue east over Hornelen and head towards Ålfotbreen, which is located in one of Norway's rainiest areas. Weather permitting, we fly over the glacier itself before gliding down towards Hyefjorden on the east side.
The trip then heads north, where we take a wide turn with views of Hornindalsvatnet – Europe's deepest lake at 514 meters. On the last part of the trip, we slowly descend towards Eid again, landing at Løkjaneset, with our camera full of memories.
Parts of the trip go through national parks with a minimum flight altitude of 1000 feet.
This tour is available as a private flight only. The price is fixed and covers the entire helicopter – you may bring up to 7 passengers (maximum 110 kg per person / 540 kg per group).
